The Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor project of Kolkata has impacted the warehousing space in peripheral Kolkata areas. Industries in the consumption and the manufacturing (retail sector) are trying to tap the potential of the eastern market. If this is successfully done then soon residential developers will also increase the property for sale in Kolkata to suffice the needs of the home buyers.
After the demonetization strike, when finally everything has settled down, people are again thinking about buying new properties across the city. Although, the major problem stands the shortage of the supply. As the infrastructure of Kolkata grows, the residential flats will increase and it will be easier to meet the targets of those who want to Buy a flat in Kolkata.
Some of the proposed infrastructures which are expected to affect the residential market are Inner Ring Road in the west and north and constructing a bridge/tunnel over River Hooghly Kolkata Mono Rail (21 km) from New Town to Ultadanga via Salt Lake;; Outer Ring Road of 400 km that is to be made operational by constructing 66 km of new road and rest through the existing road stretches.
Kolkata has thus adopted better construction practices this quarter to increase their infrastructure. The New Town Kolkata Development Authority although did not take part in the dumping of construction materials and demolition of waste on the roads.
